How Murakami defines the term of true leader
Every one has experienced being the juniors or subordinates in particular schools and officials. The president of some company, and administrators were once juniors. Even I experienced the same role. From reflecting back on those days, I constantly thought and imaged about what type of leader I looked upon on.
Whether you stand higher or lower class from others, it is important to keep mutual relationships through communication. After you listen what others have to say, then you are required to know what this person is thinking about. Simply, I can say that the quality of leader can be determined by the communications skills that person has and it is one of the conditions that the leaders should have. This method should be applied on any field from families, schools, offices, business partners and friends. I believe that on any level, people with good communicative skills are those who are potentially the candidates to become a great leader.
Within the process of communication, It is important to expose the positive side and minimize negative emotions. Same information can be interpreted differently when you add negativity attached to it and it can cause a flaw, misunderstanding, and anger. It is very easy for the seniors to say, “ Do this, do that”. Any one can give directions. However, would people follow upon their footsteps? A leader that can move others are the one who can communicate, dedicate and able to know what is going on around the surroundings. I believe these skills must be acquired to become the top leader.
On the other hand, it is essential to have the mind of professional to become a good junior even at the level of a part-time, temp, full-time, accountant, general manager or sales clerk etc. No matter what the person’s jobs are, they are all being paid by the hourly wages. It certainly feels great to work with people who have the mind of professional even if they are juniors, coworkers, or friends.
